GPAs can be based on a 4.0, 5.0 or 6.0 scale. Some students may have honors, AP or IB courses weighted when calculating GPA. An A in an AP class may be given a 5.0 at one school, but given a 4.0 at another school. All of these factors must be taken into consideration when comparing GPAs from different high schools.

The average high school GPA for college-bound students is likely higher than a 3.0. Typically a 3.5-4.0 GPA, which means an A- or A average, is expected for admission to top colleges. However, you may be able to gain acceptance to a less selective school with a GPA that's as low as a 2.0 or C- average.

It Depends on the Scale Typically, high schools that use weighted GPAs opt for the 0-5 scale that makes 5.0 the highest possible grade. A GPA higher than 5.0 is rare, but school point systems are occasionally structured so that students taking advanced classes can rack up bonus points.

If your school uses a 5- or 6-point GPA scale, you want to be closer to those values instead. The average grade for high school students in the United States is around a B, which means the average high school GPA is a 3.0. So, if your GPA is higher than that, you're off to a good start!

GPA calculator for a 9.0, A average If you currently have a 9.0 GPA or A average, these are the future grades you will need to maintain for the remainder of your classes to graduate with a 9.0 A average. Note that it becomes harder and harder to change your GPA as you progress through school.

A 4.2 indicates that you are earning Bs and B+s in high level classes or As and A+s in mid level classes. This is a very good GPA, and it should give you a strong chance of admission at most colleges.

At most high schools, this means that the highest GPA you can get is a 5.0. A 4.5 GPA indicates that you're in very good shape for college. You're most likely in high level classes earning As and high Bs. 99.68% of schools have an average GPA below a 4.5.

Most students (and most parents) don't realize that in college, a C is a great grade. The fact is, most students' GPAs drop during their first semester at college. This is actually normal – the new environment and the new rules mean there's a lot more learning to do beyond the course content.

A 5.0 generally indicates that a student took only 5.0-scale classes and earned only A's (and/or A+'s). Normally, all perfect straight-A grades result in a 4.0, with weighted classes, though, perfect straight-A grades could result in a 5.0 (or even higher).

A 3.5 GPA, or Grade Point Average, is equivalent to a B+ letter grade on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 87–89.

B - is still a pretty good grade! This is an above-average score, between 80% and 89% D - this is still a passing grade, and it's between 59% and 69%

Applicants require exceptionally good grades to get into Harvard. The average high school GPA of the admitted freshman class at Harvard University was 4.04 on the 4.0 scale indicating that primarily A students are accepted and ultimately attend. The school should be considered a reach even if you have a 4.04 GPA.

An A letter grade is equivalent to a 4.0 GPA, or Grade Point Average, on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 93–96.

A 3.7 GPA, or Grade Point Average, is equivalent to a A- letter grade on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 90–92.

To determine if a wall is a load-bearing one, Tom suggests going down to the basement or attic to see which way the joists run. If the wall is parallel to the joists, it's probably not load-bearing. If the wall is perpendicular, it's most likely load-bearing.

Every finite set represents a regular language. Example 1 – All strings of length = 2 over {a, b}* i.e. L = {aa, ab, ba, bb} is regular. Given an expression of non-regular language, but the value of parameter is bounded by some constant, then the language is regular (means it has kind of finite comparison).

An open set is a set that does not contain any limit or boundary points. The test to determine whether a set is open or not is whether you can draw a circle, no matter how small, around any point in the set. The closed set is the complement of the open set.
