Ok so reading a couple of the posts I can say it takes approximately 3 batters to properly fill up this size pan.

If the cake is 4" tall then you use the wedding cake size of 1x2x4 and get 108 servings. A 12 X18 sheet pan is the standard half sheet for professional bakeries and cut into 2 x 2 inches serves 54 people. Professional bakeries literally use a sheet pan for a full sheet cake. Hence the terms full sheet, half sheet etc.

A 12x18 sheet, when cut in the standard 2x2x2 size, means the cake will be cut in 6 rows by 9 columns = 54 servings. If the pieces will be cut in 3x2x2 size, this means the cake will be cut in 6 rows by 6 columns = 36 servings.

Take note that you will need two cake mixes to fill an 11×15 inch pan. For this reason, the two cake mixes will make the cake an inch thicker compared to the single version. So with that, make sure to increase the baking time by at least a few minutes.

I use one cake mix for an 8" round and then cut off the cooled cake top. So if you want a flat cake and 2" tall I would used two cake mixes for a 9 x 13 x 2.

3 mixes fills the 12x18" sheet just right for me! I use three for a 12x18.. i think four would bake over the top. I use a good portion of 3 mixes.

you need three boxes of cake mix to make a nice 1/2 sheet cake. Two and a half boxes in your 1/2 sheet pan,and the rest of the batter in an eight inch layer.

A 1/2 Sheet Cake Pan is 11 by 15 inches, which will usually serve 18 to 40 people. This size is a lovely option for an anniversary party or interoffice party. A full Sheet Cake Pan is 18 by 24 inches, which will usually serve 48 to 96 people.

The directions on the pan said to bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes.

two cake mixes will be a little too much but its better than having a flat cake, one is not enough. I use only one box - if you want a taller cake, try the extender recipe...

Essentially, there are approximately four to six cups of cake batter in one standard boxed cake mix. Likewise, there are usually four cups of batter in one package of Betty Crocker cake mix.

A full sheet cake weighs 8 pounds of batter. The average super market box cake weighs 15.25 ozs. Add in the eggs & water & oil & you have just about 2 lbs. So you would need 4 boxes, maybe a little more for waste because most people don't scrap the bowl very well & lose product that way.

A 12x2" round uses 1 1/2 boxes of cake mix OR one batch of my WASC recipe. A 12x2 round takes 1 1/2 boxes of mix. I made one over the weekend and put the full 2 boxes in, man did it get big! Make sure to stick with the 1 1/2.

12 inch cakes can be very generously served to 40 people with each slice measuring about 1 inch across the back. A standard fork is about one inch wide. Keep in mind that the thinner slice of a 12 inch cake is 6 inches long and 4 or 5 inches tall.

I use one cake mix for an 8" round and then cut off the cooled cake top. So if you want a flat cake and 2" tall I would used two cake mixes for a 9 x 13 x 2.
