Typical R-30 fiberglass insulation is 10-inches-thick. Prior to buying fiberglass insulation, it is important to measure the joint spacing you are working with. Note that the actual space between the framing members will be less than 16 or 24 inches, but the foam batts can easily be stuffed between these lengths.

Rigid board insulation generally comes in standard thicknesses ranging from ½ inch to 2 inches.
R30 is one of the standard R-values of insulation, which is a measure of the resistance offered by a material to the conduction of heat. Insulation is rated R30 if it can reduce heat conduction by 97%.
There is a direct relationship between the amount of insulation and the amount of heat transfer. The bigger the R value, the better the insulation is at slowing down the heat transfer. So R19 is better insulation than R13, and R30 is better than R19. The larger the R value, the better the insulation value.
It comes in standard-size 4×8 sheets, and smaller sizes, in many different thicknesses from 1/4 inch to 2 inches. Some types of thicker foam board insulation are available, but they may need to be special ordered.
Spray foam should be applied to the appropriate thickness to achieve R-25 - typically 4". Many of our customers have had great success with the DIY closed cell polyurethane kits from Energy Efficient Solutions.
8¼ ” thick, R-30C EcoTouch® Thermal Batt insulation prevents moisture damage and helps assure long roof life by providing 1" of ventilation air space between the insulation and roof deck.

Typical recommendations for exterior walls are R-13 to R-23, while R-30, R-38 and R-49 are common for ceilings and attic spaces. See the Department of Energy's (DOE) ranges for recommended levels of insulation below.
R30 insulation is the minimum insulation recommended for an Attic from climate zone 1 to 3, while it can be used in cathedral ceilings in all climate zones across the USA. It can be used as maximum insulation in climate zones 4 – 8 of the USA for floors.

With an R-value of 13.1 for a 2" thick sheet only two 2" sheets are required to achieve R-25. 2. Extruded polystyrene or XPS (foam is usually pink or blue) XPS has an R-value of 5 per inch of thickness requiring 5" of insulation to achieve R-25.
Three types of PIR Insulation Boards available in different thicknesses, 12mm-45mm, 50mm-100mm and 110-150mm, all especially designed to eliminate thermal bridges, very easy to cut and shape and energy-efficient.
Non-combustible and fire resistant, Comfortbatt will not develop toxic smoke or promote flame spread, even when exposed directly to a fire. It also offers water and moisture resistance and excellent sound absorbency. Comfortbatt is an effective way to improve a home's energy efficiency.
R-30 fiberglass insulation is designed to be in a roof or ceiling cavity framed with 2x10s. It is way too thick for 2x4 walls.

4) Are ROCKWOOL products rodent resistant? There is no test method to determine whether or not any product is rodent resistant. ROCKWOOL's reputation as a rodent-resistant insulation is mainly based on word of mouth and lack of negative feedback from numerous customers who use our products in “cottage country”.
The EPA has classified refractory ceramic fibers as probable human carcinogens. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has determined glass filaments, glass wool, rock wool, and slag wool to not be classifiable as to their carcinogenicity to humans (Group 3).
What is the thickness of Insulated Plasterboard? Insulated plasterboards vary in thickness and they start from 22 mm to 72.5mm.
