There are also multiple characters to try, and quite a few items to randomly draw for assets. The cards making up the mythos deck will also be different each game.
It means a game can surprise you each time and play with your expectations, often at the cost of replayability (which we'll get to). As it's also a card game, naturally it has an element of deck building. In practice, this means that the things your investigator can do are up to you.
The core set is a three scenario campaign, with no information to expand it.
Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a fascinating monster. While the living card game says you need two core sets to work with four players, with some slightly creative deck construction it's entirely possible to get four working decks from a single core set.
